Color Kinetics products use LEDs from suppliers who measure and certify lumen maintenance of their LED devices and modules in accordance with the approved methods defined in IES LM-80-08. The LED suppliers provide Color Kinetics with long-term lumen maintenance predictions based on proprietary models to extrapolate LM-80 test data to L70 and L50 thresholds at a range of LED junction temperatures and drive currents. Color Kinetics designs its LED lighting fixtures, and validates the designs through in-situ testing, to achieve heat dissipation sufficient to maintain junction temperatures within the ranges specified by LED suppliers, at ambient operating temperatures and drive currents. Therefore, the specified lumen maintenance of Color Kinetics lighting fixtures should meet or exceed the predicted lumen maintenance of the LED devices integrated into those fixtures.
